Welcome to my website. My name is Helen Browne and I live in the West Midlands. I have had the privilege of owning Leonbergers for 15 years They are quite simply my pride and joy.
I would like to explain what my aim as a breeder of the magnificant breed, the Leonberger is to breed Leonbergers with elegance, combined with great size and strength (which is what the breed calls for) coupled with excellent health and temperament. The Leonberger is a working breed and should be capable of doing a days' work. Having the right bone structure encompassed with well developed muscle should eventually lead to a well constructed dog. To this aim I have worked long and hard .. Of course leonbergers take time to mature and the environmental impact on a puppy in its formative months has to be taken into account.
I have spent many years with this beautiful breed gaining experience and taking advice from many knowledgeable breeders, taking heed of the research which has been done. I would like to thank one such breeder,**GLENDA SMITH ** of the Vannroy Affix, for allowing me to use some of the stunning stud dogs that she has bred over the years.
Animals have always played a big part in my life, from cats and dogs to horses. I worked for many years for the Rspca as a foster home, taking care of orphans and many cruelty cases.
The drive to learn how the dogs' mind works has compelled me to complete courses and gain Diplomas in Canine Psychology, Behaviour and Higher Certificate Cynology. It isnt hard to train a dog but in my view done with an insight to canine behaviour will give a much better result. Always bear in mind that "if you dont train your dog, it will train you"!!
